Consio AI, a Toronto-based voice platform, has raised CA$3.3 million seed funding from RTP Global, SaaStr Fund, Mu Ventures, and others. This is the first formally announced round by the company. In an interaction with The Tech Factor, the company shared more details.
Toronto-based voice platform for e-commerce brands, Consio AI, has announced a CA$3.3M (US$2.5M) seed round. RTP Global, an early investor in Datadog and Delivery Hero, led the fundraise. In addition, Jason Lemkinโs SaaStr Fund, Mu Ventures, the founders of Gorgias, and operators from Ramp and Datadog also participated in the same. With this round, Consio plans to expand its engineering, sales, and partner teams to meet growing inbound demand.
This is the first funding round the company seems to have announced publicly. Although, as per Tracxn and SEC Form D filings, the company raised about US$0.5M till 2024 in convertible funding.
Philippe Roireau and Martin Latrille, former early employees at Gorgias, founded Consio AI to address high-intent ecommerce interactions on phone calls. Traditionally, the phone channel indeed struggles with complex, high-basket purchases. To solve this, Consio provides a voice-first engagement layer for these transactions. The platform combines AI voice agents with human workflows for high conversions. It qualifies leads, answers product questions, recovers abandoned carts, and escalates high-value buyers to human teams. Meanwhile, direct integrations with storefronts and CRMs keep interactions contextual, compliant, and on brand.
Consio AI voice platform witnesses revenue surge
In an interaction with The Tech Factor, the company said that the funding comes at a real inflection point for them, as phone is one of the highest-trust, highest-conversion channels in commerce. For most Shopify merchants, the channel has been too expensive, too manual, and too poorly integrated to scale profitably. Consio AI aims to make the phone channel profitable and seamless for ecommerce by combining Shopify-native context with AI voice automation and human calling workflows.
โShoppers making big purchases want real conversations, not another email or chatbot. Consio picks up every inbound call instantly and places perfectly timed outbound follow-ups, so brands never miss a sale.โ
Philippe Roireau, co-founder and CEO of Consio AI
Consio will use the new capital to accelerate product development and expand go-to-market execution. Additionally, the company plans to grow its partner ecosystem. Consio claims that it has grown revenue 10 times and generated millions in incremental sales for customers in the past six months. Just a couple of days ago, the company announced on Linkedin that it has hit $1M ARR.
โVoice is the most underutilized conversion lever in commerce, especially for high-ticket purchases. Consio AI unlocks the phone channel as a profitable growth engine.โ

Ecommerce firms turning to voice platform for scaling phone commerce
As acquisition costs rise and digital channels saturate, ecommerce teams globally are reassessing conversion strategies. Conversational interfaces are playing a growing role now in online commerce. Research estimates that the global conversational AI market could reach $41.4 billion by 2030, a lot of it driven by ecommerce use. The trend is early but growing in Canada too. Statistics Canada reported that 12.2% of Canadian businesses used AI in production or service delivery in Q2 2025, doubling from about a year ago.
Together, these trends point towards growing adoption of voice-led and AI-assisted conversion channels. As a result, brands increasingly treat phone engagement as a performance lever rather than a support cost.
Without a doubt, agentic and voice AI has seen a lot of global funding activity in recent months. Notably, Toma raised $17M in Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, Sanas secured $65M in Series B, and Regie.ai raised $30M in Series B. In addition, Canada and Toronto have seen high activity in AI space too over the past couple of years. In short, these include massive fundraise by Cohere, new AI investors, and acquisitions.
The Tech Factor View
In our view, Consio AIโs raise reflects a shift toward conversion quality over channel volume in ecommerce. However, voice remains under-optimized for high-intent purchases. Consioโs hybrid AI-plus-human model avoids the brittleness of full automation. Going forward, execution will depend on proving repeatable ROI at scale. Therefore, merchant adoption beyond early customers will be the key signal to watch.
