Vancouver-based healthtech startup NiaHealth has announced doubling of its geographical presence in Canada, as well as new major product updates.ย The Tech Factor finds out details about the development.
NiaHealth, a Vancouver-based Canadian healthtech startup, has announced major national expansion and a slate of new product features. It made the announcement at the Web Summit Vancouver 2025, as part of theย Version One Ventures portfolio showcase. Founded with the mission of catching illness before it starts, the company aims to change how Canadians manage their long-term health. NiaHealth integrates technology with personalized care, and claims to be Canadaโs fastest-growing preventative health platform.
โMost Canadians are still forced to wait for symptoms before they get support, but itโs 2025. And we have powerful technology and even more powerful science at our fingertips. Weโre flipping the script by helping people get ahead of illness, years or even decades in advance. That starts by making access universal, and insights personalized, not generic.โ
Sameer Dhar, CEO and Co-Founder of NiaHealth
The company offers advanced biomarker testing, personalized coaching, and integrated health data from wearables and continuous glucose monitors. Over the past year, it says it conducted nearly 100,000 biomarker tests nationwide that brought unique insights into Canadians’ health. Its tests’ data reveals that 90% of users discovered at least one previously undiagnosed, actionable health risk. Nearly half of users had a vitamin D deficiency โ a common but overlooked factor affecting fatigue and immune health. And 18% identified genetic risks for heart disease, prompting proactive lifestyle changes.
NiaHealth now expanding coverage to 85% Canadians
The Canadian healthtech startup is now doubling its reach across the country. It’s offering services across nine provinces and covering 85% of the Canadian population. NiaHealth covers Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. It says this marks a major leap in its platform’s accessibility that blends clinical diagnostics with cutting-edge digital health tools.
It’s also launching new features that will make a unified view of health available to the users in real-time. These include Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and wearable device integration.
The CGM feature, available as an invite-only upgrade for NiaHealth’s Optimum members, brings a powerful layer of continuous feedback into the platform. Traditionally used by people with diabetes, CGMs are now becoming popular among health-conscious individuals. CGMs can track how food, sleep, stress, and activity affect metabolic performance in real-time. By combining this stream of data with usersโ existing blood biomarker results, the platform offers a personalized view of health that can guide more informed decisions between formal testing cycles.
Meanwhile, the upcoming wearables integration โ scheduled to go live by late summer โ will allow users to sync their existing wearable devices with NiaHealth. Now users can sync their Oura Ring, Fitbit, Apple Watch, or Garmin with the NiaHealth dashboard. This connection turns daily metrics like sleep quality, recovery rate, and physical activity into actionable insights when reviewed alongside clinical biomarker tests. The team believes this positions NiaHealth as Canadaโs most comprehensive preventative health dashboard.
Unified, comprehensive, modern preventive health approach
The startup showcased these developments during Vancouver Demo Day. Version One Ventures hosted the event and TechTO, Panache Ventures, and N49P supported it. The event highlighted Canadian healthtech startups making bold bets in technology and healthcare.
Co-Founder and Clinical Director Tanya ter Keurs, a nurse practitioner with extensive experience in personalized medicine, emphasizes the uniqueness of NiaHealth’s approach.
โBy bringing together lab results, CGM & wearable data and clinical guidance, weโre finally giving people a unified modern health dashboard that evolves with them. No where else can you find in Canada anything that offers this level of integration, clinical integrity and personalization.โ
Tanya ter Keurs, NP, Co-Founder and Clinical Director, NiaHealth
The most popular plan offered by this Canadian healthtech startup includes over 50 biomarker tests โ up to four times more than whatโs typically offered in an annual physical. Add-ons like VOโ Max testing, DEXA body composition scans, and microbiome analysis allow for even deeper personalization. Importantly, all test results are reviewed by clinicians trained in longevity and preventative care, ensuring that members receive expert insights rather than generic recommendations.
The company says that data privacy also stands as a core pillar of NiaHealthโs platform. Moreover, it asserts that users retain full control over their health data, and it employs strict security safeguards to ensure that personal information is protected.
A Canadian-built solution for a nationwide challenge
Canadaโs healthcare system continues to struggle under the weight of delayed diagnoses and overburdened emergency rooms. Overall, NiaHealth is trying to present a proactive alternative. Rather than waiting for illness to strike, the platform empowers users to identify potential issues early, monitor their progress in real-time, and take preventative steps with the support of clinical professionals.
โWe built NiaHealth with a singular focus: to raise the standard of preventative care in Canada,” Dhar signed off. “Itโs science-backed, human-centred, and proudly Canadian. And weโre just getting started.โ
