Withe, an on-demand video interview and virtual hiring platform headquartered in Vancouver, has successfully raised US$1.1M in a pre-seed funding round. Focal, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm led the round.

Before this, Withe had raised US$125,000 in 2022 by On Deck’s US$150+ million global venture capital fund and accelerator, ODX.  The company claims to be “the fastest way to interview qualified candidates at scale”.

Founded in 2021 by Daniel Shalinsky and Liam Ross, Withe is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that caters to enterprises engaged in large-scale hiring processes. The platform particularly cater to staffing and recruiting teams in the tourism and hospitality industry. It claims an 82% reduction in interview time, enabling enterprise hiring teams to streamline scheduling, enhance productivity, and optimize time management.

“Today, it simply takes too long to get qualified candidates in front of great companies. What we’ve created in Withe is a platform that benefits both recruiters and candidates by providing them with an on-demand and seamless experience. This funding will propel the next phase of Withe by enabling us to continue to hire the right people while we expand further into new markets”

Withe to accelerate virtual hiring platform growth trajectory

The company claims to have developed a system that enhances the recruitment process from both the employer and employee perspectives. During hiring events, recruiters receive a simple-to-use platform for speaking with candidates. Candidates have the option of scheduling a call in advance or joining the conversation live. Additionally, businesses have improved tools to speed up the hiring process.

Using the newly secured funds, Withe aims to accelerate its growth trajectory by expanding its technical team and further refining its product roadmap. It on-boarded its first enterprise customer Trueblue, a Fortune 1000 industry leader as a design partner. Additionally, Withe boasts prestigious global hospitality chain Marriott as one of its valued customers.

As per Tracxn data, the other companies in the domain include Talview (India based; Series B funded), WePow (Sunnyvale; Series A), and HireArt (NYC; Series B).
